The Rare & Fine Vintage Watches story begins with a devotion to collecting classic Rolex sports models in the late 1990s, at a time when such watches were still under appreciated. Following a career in strategy consulting (Partner), founder of a private equity boutique and being the CFO of of a stock-listed company, Wulf Schuetz, Founder and Chairman, followed his true passion and founded Rare & Fine Vintage Watches located in the center of Zurich, Switzerland. We also regularly contribute to leading publications, sharing our knowledge and showcasing incredible watches that we have discovered.

Primarily driven by a collector mindset, Rare & Fine Vintage Watches offers investment-grade vintage watches and collectibles. Central to buying vintage watches is knowledge and trust. Value Proposition

Rare & Fine Vintage Watches sources watches through its global network of important collectors, professional dealers as well as leading auction houses. We focus primarily on Rolex and Patek Philippe because we believe watches by both brands transcend short-lived trends and fast-moving fashions. Both companies are privately held, have benefitted from generation-spanning leadership and we appreciate the two manufacturers’ philosophy and the historical significance. Rare & Fine Vintage Watches is, in a sense, a non-authorized ambassador of their heritage.*

Dealing in vintage watches requires experience, knowledge and sometimes courage to acquire a piece. We are proud to have built some of the most impressive collections of vintage timepieces around the globe and have created long standing, and in most cases exclusive, relationships with our clients.

We select and offer only the best vintage timepieces available on the market. Every piece we source is examined and serviced by seasoned watchmakers in Switzerland, many of whom were originally employed by Rolex and Patek Philippe. We also provide after-sales repair services when required.

All watches are in our possession and are fully owned by us. We are not “consignment-dealers” and only occasionally offer a brokerage service, to assist clients in selling or support collectors in their search for a specific or rare vintage watch. Please contact us for more information.

It is important to note that we exclusively deal in rare vintage watches, because we believe that in-production watches should be available for collectors at their local authorized dealers. Being said, our passion for watches is not exclusively on vintage watches and we value any watch regardless of the manufacturer age and design.

Professional Services

We offer watch consulting services and can assist clients in sourcing specific watches using our network in a discreet and confidential way. We also take over open-book type negotiations for our clients.

We also frequently advise and manage clients’ auction participation (escrow service for consignments as well as bidding and purchasing). On request, Rare & Fine Vintage Watches is able to provide written evaluations of clients’ individual watches or collections for insurance and other purposes.
