The present reference 92859 Patek Philippe table clock with brass case and solar powered movement is in very good functional condition. Featuring milled lines on the four lateral columns, this clock is of extremely rare design. The dial shows very small age-related marks in the lower area. A stunning rare timepiece for the discerning collector.
In the 1960s, Patek Philippe developed an electronics division that focused on advancing nuclear, electronic and photoelectric timings. Soon, state-of-the-art solar clocks were developed that maintained the timeless design aesthetic for which the brand was famous.
While the movement of these clocks is powered by the energy generated in their solar cells, all Patek Philippe solar table clocks from this era use a pocket watch movement for the drive. These timepieces combine the cutting-edge technology of the 1960s with the time-honoured technology of the 19th century pocket watch.
