About this watch
Simple but rare – this Rolex Oyster Perpetual Ref. 6564 from ca. 1957 stands out for several reasons. Not only the is it preserved in great condition, it also bears a special dial showing the “power” of retailers – in this case LiNZ – at the time. In contrast to other Ref. 6564 where the “Rolex” and “Oyster Perpetual” signature is printed blow the Rolex coronet, this particular model has the “LiNZ” signature and “1877” (the year of the foundation of LiNZ) printed on top.
Reference 6564 launched in 1955 making the present watch one of the earlier examples. The present example has a 14K yellow gold case which has been oxidated to a more rose gold color and a similar color dial that shows only little patina. The lume turned out into a warm color and is well preserved as well. The watch furthermore comes with its original crocodile strap and matching early pin buckle clasp. A new leather strap will however be provided for the daily use.
Overall the present watch proofs that you can acquire a rare Rolex with a relatively low budget.
